Jindabyne.jpg - Jindabyne. The original town of Jindabyne was immersed when the Snowy River was dammed to create Lake Jindabyne, which was completed in 1967. The new town was established on the slopes above the southern end of the new lake, though some structures of the old town were not relocated, and remain submerged below the surface of the water. The base photograph looks north from the southern shore of the lake.
